I'm adding pictures/commentary as I can. I'm copying over the photos/other information from where I've been archiving them so it's slow going as I format them. I've added in all the descriptions that I have so far and will continue as I can :)

Been using H2Ocean to soak pieces if paper towel then leave them on the fronts and backs of the piercings for 10-15 minutes at a time.

Friday, October 25
after morning aspirin paste (30-ish minutes)/dial wash and an H2Ocean spray. Two other hour-long each aspirin/dial things: after work and before bed. Throughout day used H2Ocean and washed ear with dial between two later aspirin pastes.
First aspirin paste attempt. Afterward I made it a bit thicker and packed it on with clean hands and qtips.
Thursday, October 24, 6-week mark!
After morning Dr. Bronner's wash. Talked to a piercer about how I'm uncomfortable about how the piercings are healing and he gave me a new regiment to follow. I got H2Ocean spray and will use that regularly, as well as crushing up uncoated aspirin and using them as a paste. No more salt soaks and need to buy liquid dial. Aspirin for an hour after work plus Dial cleanse, H2Ocean a couple hours after, then another aspirin a couple hours later for an hour plus Dial cleanse.
Wednesday, October 23
after morning Dr. Bronner's wash and tea tree dab on cartilage. Afternoon and before bed sea salt soaks and tea tree dabs in cartilage.
Tuesday, October 22
this morning washed with Dr. Bronner's almond. Salt soak and rinses after work and before bed. After last rinse out diluted tea tree oil in cartilage, potential bump forming in the front.
Monday, October 21
after morning wash with Dr. Bronner's almond soap. Lobe swollen. Salt soaks in afternoon and before bed.
Sunday, October 20
after salt soak and wash with Dr. Bronner's almond soap. It didn't bleed but in this pic it looks bloody. Long salt soak before bed.
Saturday, October 19
after salt soak and wash with Dr. Bronner's almond soap. Both holes feeling a bit disturbed. Salt soak in the evening, and pus and blood coming out of lobe; I think that lobe abscess thing may have busted with the salt soak.
Friday, October 18
after morning cotton ball press. Salt soak and rinse after work. Soap wash after I knocked my ear. Salt soak and rinse before bed.
Thursday, October 17, five week mark
after morning cotton ball hot water press. Knocked my cartilage with my purse strap afterward and that freaking hurt. Hot water soak after lunch. Salt water soak and rinse before bed.
Wednesday, October 16
after morning salt water soak and rinse. Another salt soak and rinse before bed.
Tuesday, October 15
before cleaning ear. Lots of lymph at the lobe. Salt soak and soap in morning. Salt soak after shower before bed.
Sunday, October 13
after soaping ear in morning. Salt soak in afternoon, no soap. Salt soak before bed, with soap. I hate this lobe so much. It just was never quite right and it a still giving me trouble. My cartilage is doing great.
Saturday, October 12
after morning salt soak. Did another after shower at night. Ear feeling good. Ordered 1/4" rose gold curved barbell for rook tonight, but I won't swap it out until these piercings have healed so that I'm not soaking it in salt each day.
Friday, October 11
after waking up. Did the warm water soak of whole ear in morning and after lunch. Salt water soak and rinse after work, no soap.
Thursday, October 10, four week mark
after warm water soak of whole ear, so still a bit red. Another warm water soak after lunch. Salt soak after work, and rinsed off with water (no soap). Another salt soak, no soap, before bed.
Wednesday, October 9
after morning cotton ball warm water press and ear soak in hot water. Another whole ear hot water soak after lunch. Long salt water soak in the late evening. No blood today
Tuesday, October 8, 2013
after morning cotton ball warm water press and soak in hot water. Some blood from the lobe but better. Another lobe hot water soak after lunch (less blood). Long salt soak and soap after work (even less blood). Salt soak before bed (hardly any blood).
Monday, October 7
after morning soap/hot water cotton balls. The stupid lobe bled from the front and back and some pus from the back--I want to punch it in the face. Sea salt soak at night then washed with soap afterward. Mix of blood and pus came from the back of the lobe piercing. Got a big cotton ball soaked with very hot water then repeatedly put it on the front and back of the lobe and pressed until it stopped bleeding.
Sunday, October 6
after washing with soap and warm water in the morning, still red here but returns to normal color. I still haven't slept in this side of my head. One salt water soak in the afternoon and evening after shower.
Saturday, October 5
after putting warm water-laden cotton balls on both piercings, and some soap. Did two salt water soaks.
Friday, October 4
after morning soak with warm water using cotton balls. Sea salt soak twice: after work and before bed. Ear feeling great.
Thursday, October 3: three weeks!
Pic from the morning, no soak or washing. Hugged someone in the afternoon and it crushed my cartilage. Owwww!! Salt soak after work, then washed with soap after my nighttime shower.
Wednesday, October 2
cleaned jewelry with warm water in the morning; this pic is taken afterward. One salt soak after work, then washed before bed.
Tuesday, October 1
just after waking up. I was again running late in the morning so I didn't do anything. I did two sea salt soaks: one after work and one after shower, then washed with soap after second soak. Ear feeling good all day. Hit the lobe ring on accident after second soak and it kind of jolted the earring around, hurt but subsided quickly.
Monday, September 30
end of the day. I was running late in the morning so I just soaked a cotton ball with warm water and put it over both piercings. I did two sea salt soaks: one after work and one before bed. Ear feeling good all day.
Sunday, Sept 29
just after waking up. They're hurting again, when I touch them. Ugh the lobe is supposed to heal easier than the cartilage stupid ear lol. Did three salt soaks.
Friday, September 27
after morning wash. In the afternoon my ear was feeling a bit hot and sore. I think I should return to the sea salt soaks twice daily instead of just the one. Ordered a Lakshmi ring, H2Ocean, and Emu Oil at night.
Thursday, Sept 26: two week mark!
This pic is just woken up, before washing. I was dozing on that side, with my ear through the hole my bent arm was making to cradle my head.
Monday, September 23
After washing. I've just been doing one salt soak a day for the past few days. Washing with soap after I wake up and after I get home from work. If I exercise strenuously, play with animals, go to a club...or any other activity where my ear might have gotten exposed to dirt or anything else I will soak and wash it an additional time.
Sunday, September 22, 2013
morning, after washing. Still a little bit swollen and tender when I touch it. I have not slept on that side of my head yet. Swapped out that crappy rook piercing with a snap ring from Venus by Maria Tash.
Friday, Sept. 20, 2013
feels awesome, swelling is way down and my ear is almost back to a normal color. No salt soak in the morning, only soap. The cartilage is moving way more freely and hair is getting more easily tangled since there's more barbell exposed. Making sure to keep all my wispy hairs clipped away from it.
Thurs Sept. 19, 2013
One week mark: just after waking up. Feels great. The cartilage is moving much more freely so I think swelling is going down, although it is still swollen and red.
Wed. Sept. 18, 2013
Just after waking up. Swollen but not painful: this is how I remember my other piercings healing so I feel much more at ease. No pain except for when I accidentally bumped the cartilage jewelry in the shower at night. Even then I think it was more shocking to me than pain, just being paranoid. Able to move the cartilage earring back and forth now, verrry slowly and carefully.
Tuesday, September 17, 2013
At jury duty today. Ear swollen but I think it's getting better. Been doing two sea salt soaks a day and washing with antibacterial Neutrogenia. Pretty painful, taking ibuprofen a couple of times a day for the past few days. At night took first yoga class since getting pierced and it seemed to help get the blood flowing and it hurt less afterward.
Monday, September 16, 2013
Picture taken after letting it calm down from the sea salt soak/washing. This was the only note that I took today, so I'm not sure what I did today but I'm sure sea salt soak and washing is what I did when I could.
Sunday, September 15, 2013
Before salt soak/washing. The lobe feels like the earring is pulling down, creating a sharp pain that's relieved when I push up slightly on it. After I did the salt soak, when I was washing with soap, I used a q-tip and there was blood on the back. I think it's infected but don't know how. I haven't slept on that side or touched it with unwashed hands. Feels better later in the day. Cartilage loosened up in night soak/wash.
Tuesday, November 26, 2013
Day 2: Saturday, September 14, 2013
Morning day 2. This pic is before the sea salt soak and washing with soap. When I washed with soap I was able to rotate the lobe piercing. Both still hurt when I touch them so the only time that I touch is during the soap and afterward, to pat them dry. The lobe is worrying me though it's hurting more than normal for a newly pierced ear; why does it have that red bit near it? I've never had that on any other ear piercing before. It's not on the back so I don't think it's rejecting or moving at all.
The morning after: Friday, September 13
Slept on my left side the whole night. Pic is after the sea salt soak and wash with soap. Still swollen and tender. Haven't moved the jewelry around yet. Just sitting the lobe hurts more than the cartilage! And what the heck is that red part around the lobe...never had that before...
Night of the new piercings: Thursday, September 12, 2013
Finally took the plunge, Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013!
Got my outer cartilage and third lobe done at night after eating a quarter turkey mufaletta at Jason's Deli...new favorite food!!! I had my ear pierced only about 30 minutes before this picture was taken! Red and swollen, and you can see the purple marker marks. This is pre-salt soak. Hurt more than I remember my other four non-piercing gun piercings hurting lol. I'd already forgotten the initial pain, followed by the warm pulsing.
Night of the new piercings: Getting Pierced!
I'll have to dig up pictures of the process but it was standard:
- walk in
- discuss with the piercer about what I want done
- select the jewelry
- fill out the paperwork
- sit in the chair
- get my ear cleaned up
- get pierced
Ear with iodine.
Lobe piercing.
Needle through lobe.
Cartilage piercing...taking a deep breath in...
All done!!
Before the new piercings
Right ear, before the new piercings. I already have a rook and tragus (each 16 gauge and about seven years old), and two lobes (both done at Piercing Pagoda in the mall, both about 15 years old).
I wanted to keep track of what goes on during the piercing process since it's been years since I've gotten any new piercings. It's very easy to remember only the good times; now that my rook and tragus are healed it seems like they've always been good...but not so much. The rook took two years to stop swelling every time that I slept on my right side. The tragus healed relatively easily compared to the rook. I got them both done on the same night, a week or so before Thanksgiving about seven years ago.
